OrgChart for macOS 1.5 enhances “copy & paste” to copy task field

WHOLE TASK

In outline panel, click to select a cell

  • ⇧⌘ C (“SHIFT” + “COMMAND” + “C”)
On outline and chart panels, to copy the selected task
  • ⇧⌘ V (“SHIFT” + “COMMAND” + “V”)
On outline and chart panels, to paste copied task to NEXT of the active task (current selected task)
Notes
  • Supports copying across project windows. As the calendar and project team in different projects may be different, task resource will not be copied.
  • Pasted task (new task) will be NEXT to selected task (will not be the child of selected task)

TASK FIELD

In outline panel, click to select a cell

  • ⌘ C (“COMMAND” + “C”)
To copy the content of active cell (the task content in the selected cell)
  • ⌘ V (“COMMAND” + “V”)
To paste copied content to the active cell (current selected cell)
Notes
  • Copying cell is available in same project window only

(The date schedule policy, project team, calendar may be different in different projects, copying will confuse the users much)

  • Name, Notes, Start Date, % Comp, %Work Comp, Resource, Contact and Icon fields support copying.

(Why other fields does not copying? Give an example, the labor cost of a task is automatic, the result is 30$, if paste to other task, what do you want, change the cost to fix as 30$ or change the cost be automatic)

This is not same as “OrgChart for macOS“, as department fields are almost text fields

  • “Copy and Paste” works for same task field only

(Of course, we can’t copy resource to start date)

  • When editing a cell, copying content does not work

(click a active cell, or type “enter”, the active cell will be in editing status, now the copy&paste is controlled by textbox)
